On The Job With Hearing Loss Reprint Rights

You may have already purchased my book, “On the Job with Hearing Loss, Hidden Challenges. Successful Solutions.” The book may be hiding on your bookshelf right now.

Now, for the first time, I’m making the information from the book available in a very practical and useful format. As a member of the BHA Learning Center, counselors can now access the occupational reports and share them with employers.

Who Needs the Beyond Hearing Aids Learning Center?

Rehabilitation staff will take away different things from the BHA Learning Center.

Counselors new to hearing loss or technology need access to technology information that is broken into segments that are easy to understand and get progressively more detailed. The ALD Training Program provides the necessary grounding and the other features of the Learning Center will supplement the training.

Seasoned counselors need up-to-date information and fresh ideas and new insights into using technology. You’ve got the experience of many products, but need more to stay up to date. Read more »

ALD Training Program – Link To the Agenda

The ALD Training Program leads counselors through a 6 week workshop that will provide a thorough grounding in hearing loss basics, including hearing technologies available for different levels of hearing loss.

ALD technology is broken into 4 modules to give in-depth training. The final session teaches counselors a method to perform a communication assessment that will identify the services and technology potentially needed for clients.

All About the ALD Product Toolbox

The ALD PRODUCT TOOLBOX is the true workhorse of the Beyond Hearing Aids Learning Center. This compilation of special reports, articles and worksheets is designed for the professional who wants access to current, relevant ALD information.

Hearing Assistive Technology (HAT), Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs), Assistive Listening Systems (ALS) all refer to rehab technology. I still use the term ALDs to be inclusive of listening and alerting devices but you’ll likely see the terms used interchangeably.

I used to publish a Resource Guide and got rave reviews for it. Click here to see some of those comments. The guide has been used in core curriculum for audiology students and by many counselors. Read more »

ALD Training Program and More

ALD Technical Training Online Training Program is approved for CRCs

We received great news – The Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification has approved the ALD Technical Training Online Program for 12.0 clock hours.

And Now The Race Is On!

That means that I’m working double time to get everything finalized for the training program as well as the other valuable features of the new website. Soon I’ll share the details and ALD Technical Training Program Agenda.

I’ve been answering questions about the training program and see I need some clarification to help add value to the program. I need your input.

This is a critical issue that might affect your state.

In some states, the counselor relies on other staff to make technology recommendations. These rehab techs or consultants or …. (fill in the title) can absolutely benefit from this same training but may not need CRCs.

My question……………

Does this course need to be approved for CEUs from another credentialing organization?

Here’s your chance to leave your comments below.

Here’s To Increasing Technical Competencies….

Part of the technical training program will include product video clips to support training. To start my video journey, I created 12 of these product videos for the www.Beyondhearingaids.com  website.
